2004 Police Rally at La Zona Rosa
The Austin Police Association sponsored a Police/Community Rally
inviting all citizens of Austin to attend and show their support for the hard-working men and women in Blue. The rally was a great success with over 1100 attendees.

South Substation, is dedicated to the memory of Officer Clint Hunter
killed in the line of duty November 29, 2001. A Live Oak tree was planted in Clint’s memory. Velma, Colleen and Mikayla Hunter were given shadow boxes containing Clint’s issued badges and medals of office. The black granite marker was donated by Cpl. Toby Santiago. A swing for the Plaza, inscribed with Mikayla’s name, was built by Det. Tom Hoemeke. The cross was placed at the crash site as a reminder to us all of the events of November 29, 2001.

CLEAT Convention in Galveston - 2003 (click pics for larger view)
1. Officer John Coffey (left) was named Officer of the Year for CLEAT Region 8A by CLEAT Regional Director Todd Harrison(right). Officer Coffey received the award October 11 at the annual CLEAT Convention in Galveston, Texas.
2. APA Vice President Wuthipong Tantaksinanukij received the Douglas Ward Memorial Award from CLEAT President Ron DeLord.
3. APA President Mike Sheffield (center), and APA Board members John Jones (left) and James Beck (right) were among the delegation of APA Board members who attended the annual CLEAT Convention.

Stubbs BBQ
The APD was rewarded for its service with a party at our local bbq hotspot "Stubbs BBQ" sponsored by Allen Samuels Heart of Texas Dodge and Stubbs.
