BARGAINING TEAM- 2008
Bargaining Update - Notice to Bargain
On March 12, 2008, the Austin Police Association was served notice by Austin's City Manager Mark A. Ott that the City wishes to terminate the current Meet and Confer Agreement effective September 30, 2008, and to begin negotiations for a successor Agreement in March of 2008.

All members of the bargaining teams will report to an interest based bargaining training session to be held March 18, 2008.

The following dates for MEET & CONFER have been set:

June 4, 10, 11 (9am - 5pm)

June 17 - 1pm-5pm (APA recruiting at Training Academy, serving catfish from 11am-1pm)

June 18, 24, 25 (9am - 5pm)

July 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 21, 22 (9am - 5pm)

Aug 5, 6, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27 (9am - 5pm)

City Announces Bargaining Team
Austin City Manager Mark A. Ott appointed Assistant City Manager Michael McDonald to lead the City's negotiating team when bargaining with Austin's public safety unions. Other members of the city's team will include Anita Stevenson, Sylvia Gonzales and Bruce Mills, from the law, police and emergency management departments, respectively. Contract talks are expected to begin next month with police, fire, emergency medical services and emergency management unions.
